Terminal Transformation
Aberdeen International Airport is currently investing in a comprehensive transformation of the passenger facilities.
Phase one of the project commenced in mid-2016 and was completed by June 2017. This phase involved the construction of a two-storey extension to the south of the existing terminal, making space for new arrivals and immigrations facilities, and new business lounges on the upper level.
Phase two was completed on Tuesday 19 June 2018, and includes a new security central search featuring fully automated security equipment, decompression area with sense of place lighting, enhanced and larger World Duty Free shopping experience. Additional retail offerings include WHSmith, Rolling Luggage, and a new WHSmith bookstore. A new purpose-built toilet facility will be delivered later this year which includes an adult changing facility.
Preparatory work for the third and final phase of the Terminal Transformation project began in May 2018. Completed early 2019 the reconfiguration of the departure lounge has increased the airside area and provided new shops and restaurants.
In Autumn 2019 a new catering unit (Bocco) was added to complement our existing offering. Still to come in Spring 2020 is another exciting new catering unit and the delivery of this will see the completion of the Terminal Transformation project, ending our four year journey to improve your airport.
