We built BRUNT Workwear for workers, with workers.
A little over two years ago, I set out to build a company that makes high quality, comfortable work boots and clothes. The idea is simple and straight-forward, but the passion behind the business runs much deeper. Growing up in a blue collar household, I spent my teenage years roofing and landscaping alongside my childhood buddies. I went off to college to pursue my early interest in business, but many of my best friends went right into the trades after high school.
Those friends are some of the smartest and hardest working guys I know, yet a career in the trades still doesn't garner the attention it deserves for all that they've accomplished. Early in their careers they were all making a solid living, had no debt or college loans, owned homes and were starting to build and support their own families. They remain some of my best friends today, and a huge part of why I've put so much energy into building BRUNT.
BRUNT is reinventing the workwear category, starting from the ground up with work boots and apparel. First, we spent a lot of time working side-by-side with my buddies in the trades obsessing over how to develop products and solutions that make real workers' lives easier; so you can focus your time and energy on the things that matter at work, and ignore the things that don’t. Next, we then solved workwear’s biggest problem – unnecessary retail store mark-ups that take your hard-earned money right out of your pocket. By selling directly to you online, we cut out the retail mark-ups - all the store rent, utilities, and other costs that come with them.
Even though my buddies have the means to buy any workwear on the market, they shouldn't be overpaying for the tools they wear to do their jobs - guys like them are the backbone of this country, and they deserve more.
