Bensons for Beds
Bensons for Beds is the UK’s leading bed retailer, offering a diverse range of beds frames, divans, mattresses and bedroom furniture.
With nearly 70 years of heritage, Bensons understands the importance of creating the tailored sleep experience, putting Sleep Wellness™ at the heart of everything it does.
That’s why every customer visiting a Bensons store is offered a complimentary sleepPRO™ assessment, allowing them to choose a comfort level that is right for them. Mattresses are rated 1 to 5 in terms of firmness, with 1 being the softest and 5 being the firmest and sleepPRO’s unique technology matches the customer with the closest comfort rating based on their needs.
Heritage
Originally founded as a general store by Cyril Benson in 1950, the business launched their first bed centre in 1972.
In 2011, the new Bensons for Beds business was launched, merging the existing Bensons for Beds, Sleepmasters and Bed Shed brands under one umbrella.
In 2019, Bensons for Beds has over 250 stores across the UK and is supported by its head office in Accrington, Lancashire. It’s here where Benson’s highly-skilled buying team try, test and source a range of products, as well as products from top brands like iGel, Sealy and Silentnight.
Bensons also has group manufacturing sites based in Wellington and Huntingdon – with 35% of its range coming from these two sites. In fact, 97% of its mattresses are handmade to order in the UK and are tested and guaranteed for five years.
Accreditations
As proud members of FIRA (Furniture Industry Research Association), Bensons has access to an unrivalled hub of expertise, covering all aspects of the furniture industry. This is reflected in their product range, some of which have been awarded the prestigious BSI Kitemark Accreditation, for demonstrating the highest possible quality standards.
Sustainability
With sustainability more of a concern than ever before in the UK, Bensons is also fully committed to becoming even more environmentally-friendly and is constantly looking at how the business can be kinder to the environment with every new product introduced.
Bensons is set to incorporate more chemical treatment-free fabrics and new fillings, which are produced using less CO2, water and land use, into its new ranges this year.
In addition to this, Bensons customers also have the chance to recycle their old beds and mattresses via a dedicated service, where they can have their old products taken away on delivery of their new bed. So far, Bensons has saved over 2,500 tons of mattresses from going into landfill.
